Start with the stair footprint
Stairs change a bunk room’s floor plan. Measure the bed frame and the complete stair arrangement together instead of using mattress width alone. Mark bedroom doors, closets, windows and the route through the room. Ask for the outside dimensions and stair location of the proposed configuration before deciding where the beds belong.
Compare stairs and ladders in your room
A ladder usually occupies less floor space, while stairs offer a different way to reach the upper level. The choice depends on the design, the people using it and the space around it. Neither option should be assumed suitable for every guest. Ask about the access details for your bed and check the manufacturer’s use and installation instructions.
Make storage usable
If the design includes drawers or other storage, add the opening space to the plan. Storage that cannot open without blocking a doorway is difficult to use. Tell us what guests need to store: clothing, spare bedding, bags or other items. Confirm which storage features are included in the quote instead of assuming that every staircase contains drawers.
Plan for a vacation rental
Consider how guests arrive, where luggage goes and how someone changes the upper bedding. Access should work with the final room furniture, not only in an empty room. Include nearby lighting in the plan and confirm its location with the appropriate installer. Stairs may be a useful feature, but the layout still needs comfortable sleeping space at both levels.
Confirm the design before ordering
Send a measured room sketch, ceiling height, mattress choices and preferred stair side. We can discuss a custom arrangement and the space it requires. Review the final dimensions, included features, assembly instructions and attachment requirements for the exact bunk bed before installation.
